this is a great toy my 5 year old daughter loves it, she don't stop snapping. only thing i would say is that if not held completely still when taking piccies it is very blurred. but it is aimed at children so not a problem. holds loads of piccies to and can download them onto pc. very good other features too, games also can play around making the piccies funny and borders too.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Kidizoom Plus camera

My son already has the original Kidizoom camera & loves it. He enjoys the games & loves to distort the photos he takes. He has had this for 2 years and dispite it getting dropped down the stairs several times it still works perfectly. I bought my 3 year old daughter the new Kidizoom plus and it is a much improved version of the original. The games are better and the turn dial makes it easy to change to the different functions. Kidizoon Camera

This product was purchased for my 3 year old Granddaughter's Birthday. She adores it and is very easy for her to use. There are additional features for use with a computer which she will use as she becomes more used to using it.The only downside is the length of time the batteries last - approximately 1 week in the hands of a 3 year old. Would be helpful if the camera shut down automatically when laid to rest.

bought for my daughters 3rd birthday as she had become totally obsesed with my camera, she LOVES it, takes good quality pics, has easy to use games and she can even change the serttings/alter images herself, was worried about it costing me a fortune in bateries but we are still on the 1st lot and shes taken loads and loads of pics!!! i also have a 14 month old that has had hold of and dropped the camera on many occasions so it is very durable, we added and SD card to maek it easier to upload pics to the computer...all round great item would totally buy again!!! 5/5 rating!!!1 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.

I bought this for my three year old for Xmas as she kept asking for it! It's really good fun and keeps her busy! It has a lot more functions than I initially thought and the games are good fun too. Photos can be distorted and frames added, you can also make short videos and play photos as a slide show...plus so much more. The only downside is that the batteries run out quite quickly and it takes FOUR AA size batteries at a time so this works out pretty expensive!0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.

Ive just bought this for my 3year old and she loves it. I read a few reviews and was trying to decide if it was worth the money, well i can say it is. My daughter loves the games and shes been taking pictures of everything and some are quite good. She finds the video hilarious watching herself chatting away. To be able to plug into the tv and computer is such fun too. I bought this for my 5 year old daughter at Christmas, she absolutely loves it! She has played with it none stop, it holds quite a lot of pictures and the quality of the pictures looks very good for a childs camera, she has also used it to film and has played the games on it, she finds it very easy to use and certainly enjoys using it. We bought this for our 7 year old daughter for Christmas as an 'extra' present to her main gift. She played with it all of the time! She was very quickly showing all of the adults how to use it and snapping pictures of us with funny frames and funny shaped heads. Good Quality Pictures

My daughter is 4½ and was very happy to receive this pink camera at Xmas. A friend has the original Kidizoom and I thought it wasn't worth the money as the pictures all came out blurred and her child would have to stand as a still as a statue (not easy!) to get a half decent picture. But the Kidizoom Plus' quality of picture and video camera is much much better. Once my child had worked out how to get her subject matter in just the right place she was off photographing everyone and everything. You can put fun stamps, photo frames or even distort your pictures. We all had lots of fun giving each other fat cheeks, scarey eyes etc. There are also 5 mini games to play including Dance with me (match the arrows to make her dance), Fast Match (a pairs matching game) and a jigsaw.Although she loved it, like most of her toys she soon got bored of it but saying that she has picked it up a few times. It is very chunky and durable so I would say it's ok from 2 years up for any budding photographers and it stops them wanting to play with your camera.

My five year old loves this

I got this for my five year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. We spent a day or two helping her to get used to all the functions and then she was completely independent, taking photos, making videos, playing games etc. She's even learning to use Flickr so that she can share her creations with other family members who live away.A really good product that's provided hours of fun.

Bought the Vtech kidizoom for my 6 yr old daughter for xmas, thinking it may be a little young for her. She's absolutely loving it...the games are easy and fun;she's getting the hang of zooming in for decent photos and uses it everyday.It's very robust and has some 'feel' appeal, only negatives are poor photo resolution and due to heavy use it gets through batteries quite quickly!

I should have bought an adult camera

As my 2 year old is great with technology and loves taking photos with our cameras and mobiles, I wanted to buy her this camera. I am rather disappointed with it and wish I would have bought her a "real" camera.Firstly, the picture quality is rubbish and I would never bother printing any of the pictures taken. Even when taken by my steady hand, and I consider myself a slightly better than average amateur photographer, the pics are poor quality when viewed on PC. Grainy, dull colours etc.
I know the camera is aimed at 3-5 year olds but my daughter is almost 3 and very bright, but I think this item is difficult to use. The icons on the dial aren't obvious enough as to what that section does. Then, the way to view a photo you have taken is very long winded. On most adult cameras, there's a kind of playback button - a triangle in a box, but on this, you have to switch the dial round to one of about 5 settings, then it asks if you want to view photos and you have to select yes or no, or ok (havent got the thing in front of me). Well, my daughter can't read yet. I don't think the button to take pictures is positioned brilliantly for little hands either.
Overall, disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

Its great for a kid

We bought this for our 6 year old and I'd read the mixed reviews, but I reckon its great. My dauther loves it. The picture quality isn't great, its true, but its good enough. The best bit is the video function, as my girls take inane videos of each other that we, as parents, wouldn't take, and you end up with a great record of your kids being as natural and silly as they really are. Some criticims I've read: flash is too strong and washes out faces - you can put it on high, low or off, which works fine; you have to delete hundreds of photos individually - while its connected to the computer, find the drive the camera's connected to, find the folders with photos, and delete in bulk, no worries; picture quality is poor - its not great but its good enough for kids, and for video its perfectly fine; uses lots of batteries - minimise flash use and turn down the volume when they play games on it, and use rechargeable batteries. i bought this camera as a Christmas pressie for my 4.5yr old daughter, she LOVES it!i had looked at various different kids camera's but had been advised that this was the best and it really is great.
my daughter learnt how to work it quicker than me, and has done some really cool things with photos that i dont even know how to do yet!!
the camera has been dropped once and my wee girl got such a fright saying sorry etc, but its fine! working no bother (this is why i got it as i heard it was fab if dropped etc!)
in terms of picture quality, its actually not bad for only 2.0 mega pixel! i havent installed the disc i got with it yet but i have uploaded some of the pics onto my laptop, some the quality was rubbish other its actually really good and i couldnt believe it was my child who took the pics!
deffo a good buy, worth paying a bit more to get this one and my daughter absolutely loves it!

Great Fun!

My daughter is almost 3 years old and she got this camera for Christmas. She absolutely loves it! She got the hang of it very quickly and loves to look back at the pictures she has taken. There are lots of other functions such as games, super-imposing hats or silly faces on to the picture and distorting peoples faces, the latter being particularly good fun! Best of all, its so tough! It gets dropped and knocked about and its still in perfect condition. This was my daughters Xmas present (she's age 6). She has used it non-stop. The batteries last ages, even though she is videoing a lot of the time. She has taken over 100 photos and it was simple to download them to PC. There are fun frames and funny faces to use for the photos and games to play too. She just started using it without any difficulty and no reference to the instructions! It has a wrist strap and software/cable needed to put it on the PC. Excellent value and suitable for ages 3 upwards. Favourite Christmas Present

We bought this for our five and half year old, as she takes some really good pictures with our digital camera but could get a bit clumsy! What a good buy. So far it's been excellent value for money and she hasn't put it down. A couple of the pictures have been a bit blurry but that's probably due to it not being on the right setting and the excitement of having her very own camera! It's great you can put pictures around the person, like prison bars and hearts. Also there are games.
