VTech Crawl and Learn Bright Lights Ball

Nice toy

S. Brockett from UK - 4 out of 5.

This is a nice toy with lots going on, but it didn't capture my 6 month old grandson's attention as much as I thought it would looking at other reviews before I bought it. He prefers to look through a book or bang a couple of plastic cups together!

Roll me!!

Frances Mollins from Elgin, Scotland - 4 out of 5.

Firstly I will say the songs played by this ball will drive you mad, but thankfully it does have two volume settings. I bought this to encourage my daughter to crawl, she had been attempting to get going for a couple of weeks but her existing toys seem to offer little incentive.

She is 7 months and loves her Bright Lights Ball, the movement is smooth and the circle it travels in not too wide and always stops within in a reasonable reaching distance of her. It makes lots of different sounds, although I think she is too young to understand the shapes and animals I think for an older baby/toddler it would make a good educational toy.

I use this as an occasional toy as this prevents her getting bored of it too quickly, her eyes always light up when she sees it and within a few minutes of it being on she is off around the floor with it. It is very hard wearing, however this has made it quite heavy and the first couple of times she explored it the rolling caught her by surprise and she got a clip around the nose from it!

Recommend this is anyone with a baby who is trying to crawl, only disadvantage I know of is that my cat is terrified of it :)

My son's favourite toy

Mrs. A. Butler from Lancashire - 5 out of 5.

My 8 month old adores this toy. He is completely obsessed with trying to catch the ladybird which seems to be developing his fine motor skills. He has had this toy since 5months and Im convinced it was this that has encouraged his early crawling (6 months). The songs are pretty annoying when heard 1000 times a day, but that is no different to any other musical toy...there is a volume switch though thank heavens. I absolutely recommend this toy to all babies from 5 months or when they start to roll.

not sure what to make of it!

Dolly - 4 out of 5.

My little girl (6 and half months) is not sure what to make of this toy, all her others are wooden or fabric/cuddly toys and so far she's just taking this one in!! I think she might get the hang of it eventually, but despite her outgoing personality and energetic nature she isn't thrilled when she sees this toy! I am pleased I got it for her though, and I think that most children will get something out of it. I would recommend it over other plastic toys I have seen.

Not a success for us

Dr. Nicholas P. G. Davies from Halifax, UK - 3 out of 5.

I enjoyed this toy. Sadly my baby didn't get the hang of it. I suspect it's like a lot of toys- they are well designed and made- and some babies will love them and some won't. And you won't be able to know this until after you have bought them.

The entertainer

Anonymous - 5 out of 5.

My 7 month old granddaughter loves this. It keeps her entertained for ages and is extremely well made. It even survived falling off a table onto the kitchen tiles. This was definitely a worthwhile purchase.

5 Stars!

F Corcoran from Warrington, Cheshire - 5 out of 5.

I purchased this toy for my 4 month old and he absolutely loves it! He is now 5 months old and still hasn't lost interest. He loves the spinning ladybird on the top of the ball and is fascinated by the lights. I'm pretty convinced once he starts crawling, he will love chasing it. It really is a good buy, considering this toy is aimed at babies between 6 months and 2 years and is reasonably priced. Brilliant!

I love it but my baby doesn't!

Sadie from UK - 3 out of 5.

I bought this after seeing my baby show interest in it at a friends house - I also thought it might encourage him to crawl after it. However, he's only interested in it for a minute or so and then not anymore. It actually moves quite slowly and he would just grab it and then hold onto it so that it couldn't effectively move and thus no need for him to crawl after it. It's very durable though and I'm hoping that my next baby will show more interest in it. I have friends whose babies love it!

Just can't leave it alone...

J. Cobb from UK - 5 out of 5.

Our 10 month old son just can't leave this one alone and has started him off crawling. It's very durable even with a few good wacks as it just rolls away. Like most of these, if you use these on carpet they don't roll so well but this is an exception. Or if you have laminate flooring it goes even better. Not to say that it's bad on a carpet though. Not sure about the educational part but it's certainly fun to chase. Hours and hours of entertainment.
